Living this military life comes with many challenges. I tend to pride myself on the flexibility and resiliency that I have adapted and instilled in our children, but this life is not without its sad truths.
I was raised in a very rural atmosphere. Learning lessons from nature, animals and running wild on the land. I want my children to have that experience. Their natural cadence pulsing with the creek current, but I cannot give that lifestyle to them and sustain a military career and marriage.
Therefore, for one last time, we have brought a puppy into the house. Hopefully, this puppy will give them some of the responsibility and exposure that they are missing from the homestead experience. It is not the same of course, but here we go anyway.
